Coach Trenton Crain:
Hello Everyone! Wanted to take a moment to share with you my background. Weightlifting started for me when I joined the Lindenwood Team as an athlete in 2012. I had general knowledge of the movements through athletics but nothing specific. In 2014 I graduated with an Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and in 2016 I earned my Masters in Human Performance all while being a Grad Assistant for the Lindenwood Weightlifting Team. From 2016-2021 I worked as an Assistant Coach for Lindenwood Weightlifting, an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for University Missouri St.Louis, and an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for McKendree University. In 2021 I became Head Coach of Lindenwood Weightlifting. I’ve coached thousands of athletes of all walks of life over the past 20 years from personal training sessions, winning 7 Co-Ed team University National Championships, to coaching internationally at Junior Pan American Championships and Junior World Championships.
Coach Calvin Lackey:
Hey there! Coach Calvin here. I was first introduced to weightlifting through high school sports and quickly became obsessed with using the olympic lifts to improve my performance in track and field. My self-taught lifts helped me get a scholarship from the Lindenwood University college weightlifting team. After my freshman year I was named captain of the team and helped lead them to a four-peat national championship performance as well as a 2025 individual national title. My best lifts are a 133kg/294lbs snatch, and 177kg/390lbs clean and jerk. As co-owner of Lionheart I’ve worked with hundreds of athletes both remotely and in-person.
